Thoughtful, contextual studies to help you understand the Scriptures as they were first given.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God… rightly dividing the word of truth
2 Timothy 2:15

Our Approach to Scripture

The studies on this site are based on a method of interpretation known as biblical exegesis.

Exegesis is the careful and systematic study of Scripture in order to understand the meaning the original author intended for the original audience. Rather than imposing modern ideas onto the text, this approach seeks to draw meaning out of the text itself.

This process involves examining:

  • the language of the passage
  • the historical and cultural setting
  • the broader biblical context
  • how Scripture interprets Scripture

The goal is to allow the Bible to speak for itself and to understand what the text meant before applying its message today.

This approach stands in contrast to eisegesis, which occurs when readers project their own assumptions or ideas onto the text.

Throughout these studies, the aim is to rightly handle the Word of Truth (2 Timothy 2:15) by carefully examining what Scripture actually says.

The 70 Weeks of Daniel

The Seventy Weeks of Daniel is one of the most discussed prophecies in the Bible. By looking carefully at the historical context and the structure of the prophecy, this course shows how the events described in Daniel unfold in the first century.
