About Jim Head
A lifelong student of Scripture committed to careful, contextual study of the Book of Revelation.
Test all things; hold fast what is good. —
1 Thes. 5:21
Jim Head is a lifelong student of Scripture who has spent more than twenty years teaching Bible classes and leading small-group studies, with particular focus on the Book of Revelation.
His interest in Revelation grew not from speculation, but from a desire to understand what the text itself was communicating to its original audience. Over time, he became increasingly interested in reading the book through its historical setting — examining first-century culture, language, and documented events alongside the biblical text.
Rather than beginning with modern systems or inherited interpretations, Jim sought to ask a simpler question: What would this have meant to those who first received it?
Before retiring, Jim worked in analytical roles within the Department of Defense, where careful attention to language, context, and cultural reference was essential. That discipline of close reading and critical analysis shaped the way he approached complex and symbol-rich passages of Scripture.
His goal is not to promote controversy or advance personal theories, but to read the text carefully and invite others to consider it with the same thoughtful attention.
Jim lives in Tyler with his wife, Peggy. He enjoys time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and welcomes any opportunity to talk about planes, cars, or racing.
