In Galatians 6:14 the Apostle Paul makes a striking statement:
“God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
In a world that often celebrates personal achievement, status, and success, Paul declares that the only thing worth boasting about is the work of Christ on the cross. To “boast in Christ” means placing all confidence in His saving work rather than in our own accomplishments or religious efforts.
In this study we will examine:
- What Paul meant by boasting in the cross
- Why the cross replaces self-righteousness
- What it means to be crucified to the world
- How the cross forms a new identity in Christ
